takatatakata
Yay.
I wanted to post an entry at work today, but somehow I got interrupted, without being able to complete or save my text afterwards, and I'm somewhat at a loss as to what I was going to write about. Wouldn't have been anything short of amazing, I'm sure. :P
Well, one oughtn't be getting inspirations all the time, as it would surely drive one mad in no time (although in my case that might just be good news), so enjoy your sanity while it lasts and be content with this boring piece of word juggling.
Well, OK, I did get another enlightenment today, but it was of more physical nature - as I was playing around on my drum set about an hour ago, I suddenly realized I could at long last play beats incorporating continuous and even double pedal (fo' my bass drum) "action" - at least playing 16th notes evenly or incorporating fills of 32nd notes, and also continuous 16th note triplets (which is VERY exhausting). Otherwise it was boring, I couldn't get much groove going tonight and the window of my training room (our guestroom - in an external building it shares with our "workshop" - nowadays it's Torsti's bedroom) somehow managed to be in the way of my left elbow all the time - probably my set has been accidentally moved towards the wall while we were cleaning up on sunday after our last rehearsal with the band.
The rehearsal was very much fun, although Joona the jerk still couldn't come (OK, this time it was Stefan's fault, because he had been lazy informing anybody except me about when we were going to hold the rehearsal. :P).
Most of the time we tried to learn Stefan's new song, which sounds very interesting, but we also managed to record an early version of our cover of the In Extremo -version of the french/provencal folk song Ai vis lo lop. The microphone we used for recording was our vocals mike (having no stand for it we had to put it on a shelf for recording, during rehearsals one of us (manuel) would hold it, but that would have put the mike too near his singing now) and the recording equipment consisted of our lap top, the only recording program on it being windows sound recorder (our other pc would have had better brograms, but it isn't portable and we're currently having problems with our home network (i.e. it doesn't work) so moving large amounts of data from one machine to the other would have required far too much effort, considering the facts - that we only had rehearsed the song for one and a half evenings before the recording and that our mike was of quite poor quality, at least for recording purposes) so the sound quality was very poor (especially for the electric guitar - you can barely hear it) and our twenty-odd (or maybe even less) times playing the song made sure the quality of the music was even poorer. But we had fun, and that's the most important part. And the recording does hint at quality hiding underneath the crap - you'll be hearing about us sometime soon! :D
Oh yeah, right now we're thinking about calling ourselves King Eats King, it's somewhat of an inside joke, but it's a nice name, is it not? - What do you people think?

Massive Attack - Risingson
-trip hop at it's rockiest - you should definitely check this out if electronica, beats or rapped vocals (makes this sound bad, does it? give it a chance, it's nothing like your standard mtv or gangsta rap) don't trigger allergic reactions in you
